Turning awareness into action: How to train your managers on pregnancy loss
Our Director of People and Operations, Céline Crawford, will walk HR and People teams through what to say, what to avoid, and how to handle the practical side of supporting someone through pregnancy loss and baby loss, so your managers aren't being left to improvise in the moment it matters most.

Baby Loss Awareness Week runs from 9 to 15 October, ending with the Wave of Light on the 15th. By the time most workplaces have marked it, candles lit, a supportive post shared, the moment has usually already passed. What often hasn't changed is how a manager actually responds when someone tells them they've lost a pregnancy.
This session is about closing that gap. Fertifa's Director of People and Operations, Céline Crawford, will walk HR and People teams through what to say, what to avoid, and how to handle the practical side of supporting someone through pregnancy loss and baby loss, so your managers aren't being left to improvise in the moment it matters most.
By the end of this session, you'll be able to:
- Brief your managers on how to approach a pregnancy loss conversation with confidence, rather than avoidance.
- Apply your leave and absence policies correctly and consistently when a loss occurs.
- Share Fertifa resources with your managers, created by our in-house clinical experts in pregnancy loss and baby loss, alongside our HR experts.
Why now?
This session sits just after Baby Loss Awareness Week and ahead of Fertility Awareness Week. Getting your managers trained effectively means they're ready to have these important conversations if and when they come up.
