How Kraft Heinz closed the gaps in employee healthcare - and why Fertifa made it simple

The Kraft Heinz challenge

Gaps in healthcare coverage for fertility, pregnancy loss, and beyond

Before partnering with Fertifa, Kraft Heinz recognised that their employees were facing significant challenges without the right support. This was especially when it came to fertility journeys and pregnancy loss. Members of their team came forward asking for additional support on these topics. While the company was committed to wellbeing, their existing benefit offerings were not comprehensively covering fertility and pregnancy loss, making it difficult for employees to know where to turn during some of the most challenging times of their lives.

Kraft Heinz needed a partner who could provide a "one-stop shop" for reproductive healthcare, a solution that combined clinical expertise with an easy-to-use digital experience that was seamless for employees to access and HR teams to implement.

As the team explored fertility benefits, they uncovered broader gaps in their PMI coverage, including comprehensive menopause support, gender identity, neurodiversity and men’s reproductive health. It became clear that a wraparound healthcare provider was the best solution to tackle multiple problems.

The solution

Comprehensive clinical care for all underserved areas of healthcare

By implementing Fertifa, Kraft Heinz was able to consolidate their support into a single, comprehensive platform. Employees now have direct access to Fertifa’s in-house clinical team, including specialist nurses and doctors, alongside educational resources and transparent financing options. Kraft Heinz employees have access to one free fertility test per year, which includes blood tests or semen analysis and a full clinical consultation to review the results and a plan for the next steps on their family building journey.

For Fiorela and the HR team, the transition was about more than just adding a new tool; it was about elevating the standard of care provided to their workforce.

From the outset, Fertifa supported Kraft Heinz every step of the way. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, the Kraft Heinz launch with Fertifa was built on genuine partnership and cultural alignment. Fertifa worked closely with the team to develop a bespoke roadmap, beginning with early user testing and engagement with Business Resource Groups (BRGs) to ensure the service, launch materials, and communications resonated with the workforce from day one.

The rollout blended digital communications with an in-office launch event, alongside virtual sessions for remote teams. Fertifa's team embedded themselves in Kraft Heinz's culture from the start, showing up to wider business moments like International Women's Day and operating as a true extension of the HR function. The result was a benefit that felt personal, integrated, and for the long term, not bolted on.

The impact

Since the launch, the feedback from the Kraft Heinz team has been overwhelmingly positive. The partnership has not only provided clinical reassurance but has also fostered an open culture where employees feel genuinely supported.

Fiorela has already received positive feedback from Kraft Heinz employees, including individuals during their first trimester of pregnancy, people who have undertaken fertility testing, and employees who had questions about their health and didn’t know where else to turn.

By removing the administrative and emotional burden of navigating complex healthcare systems, Fertifa has allowed Kraft Heinz to deliver an inclusive, comprehensive benefit that resonates across all demographics of their workforce.

- Over 1 in 4 Kraft Heinz employees have downloaded the Fertifa app

- 45% of users have booked a 1 -2-1 call with a Fertifa clinician

- 17% of Kraft Heinz users have ordered a complimentary fertility test, which includes a fertility testing kit and virtual clinical consultation

- 61% of users have sent a message to the Fertifa clinical team, made use of the in-app educational library, or joined one of Fertifa’s live clinical Q&A webinars
